Limoges box represents a highly-detailed CHINESE JUNK - Junk
comes from Javanese "jong", meaning a large
sailing vessel. The Chinese Junk originally developed during
the Han Dynasty (220 BC - 200 AD). The
Limoges is artfully and colorfully hand-painted with
intricate designs in great detail. The Limoges has
been fired numerous times to achieve its brilliant colors.
The box is adorned with intricate metalwork and an ornate
clasp. This Limoges porcelain box is meticulously crafted
entirely in Limoges, France and bears the insignia of the
artist.
